News from the Legislative Session - January 9, 2008

Today in the Legislature

Today was the first day of 60 working days in the 2nd Session of the 100th Legislature. There are 15 state senators term limited out, of which I am one. It will be an interesting session to say the least. Over the course of this session you will get daily updates of my activities and the issues before the Legislature. You will also receive my weekly columns which are published in the newspapers in the 47th District.

There were nearly 100 bills introduced today. All of the bills that were not acted on last year, also carry over to this session. To search the list of bills introduced for any day this session, you can visit the Nebraska Legislature's website by clicking here.

You will have to scroll down to Day 1 in 2008 to see the one line description of bills introduced this session.

Remember that your involvement is critical in the debate and the discussion and ultimately the policy the Legislature passes. I hope you will take an active role in your Nebraska Legislature.
