Today in the Legislature
This morning we debated a bunch of bills that are technical in nature and unfortunately, I don't have time today to explain them. I had to introduce 5 bills today before Legislative Committees so my day has just completed and am heading home.
I do want to thank those of you who attended the forums over the weekend. I will be announcing more for next weekend soon.
The deadline for Senators and Committees to pick priority bills is Friday so you will know this weekend the major issues that will likely be debated for the rest of the session.
Today in the Health & Human Services Committee
Appointment - Patricia Madsen - Child Abuse Prevention Fund Board
LB1108 (Erdman) Change licensure requirements for mental health practitioners
LB1169 (White) Authorize health care assistance for certain veterans of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom
The Committee met in executive session over lunch and advanced a number of bills that were previously heard by the committee. Unfortunately I don't have my notes in front of me to tell you exactly which ones they were. I was introducing others bills in other committees and was not able to attend the executive session of the Health Committee after the hearing to know if any action was taken on the above bills.
