Smith to Host Small Business Procurement Conference
WASHINGTON DC - Congressman Adrian Smith (R-NE) today announced he will be hosting a small business procurement conference in Sidney on Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at the Western Nebraska Community College. The conference will assist Nebraska small businesses in procuring contracts with the federal and state government.
"Nebraska businesses need to take advantage of every opportunity to succeed and grow. The ability to compete and earn contracts with federal and state governments is important. The know-how and information covered by this conference will give local companies the insight they need," Smith said.
Representatives from federal agencies such as the Department of Defense, the National Parks Service, the Bureau of Land Management, and U.S. Postal Service will present the "how to's"" of procuring a federal contract.
Western Nebraska businesses which currently sell commodities, services and products will participate in a panel discussion about their unique business ideas. Panelists will include representatives from Cabela's Government Outfitters, Kelley Bean, and Wayne Barber of Chadron.
The free conference will be from 1-5 p.m. MST at Western Nebraska Community College, 371 College Drive, Sidney. Registration information is available by calling (308) 633-6333 or e-mail RSVP to Adrian@mail.house.gov.
